Motivation Letter Frontend Developer
A good motivation letter for Frontend Developer connects a concrete personal experience with what the position actually requires - not a summary of the CV. Structure: salutation, a concrete reference to the position or company, a substantiated example from your own experience, an honest closing.
Example
Dear Mr. Keller For a Zurich agency, I implemented the frontend of a customer portal relaunch last year - Angular, around 30 views, roughly 2000 users daily. The part I am most proud of is unspectacular: we brought the landing page's load time down from 4.1 to 1.3 seconds, mainly through consistent lazy loading and dropping two libraries we barely used. Since the portal is also used by a municipality, I implemented the requirements to WCAG 2.1 AA and tested with a screen reader. That work changed how I think about frontend development. You can find my work at example.ch. I look forward to a conversation. Kind regards
Common Mistakes
- No portfolio linked - the worst mistake in this profession
- Accessibility is not mentioned, even though it is mandatory for the Confederation, cantons and SBB
- Only frameworks are named, with no statement on load times or user impact
- A portfolio is linked, but the site loads slowly or is broken on mobile
