Motivation Letter SAP Consultant

A good motivation letter for SAP Consultant connects a concrete personal experience with what the position actually requires - not a summary of the CV. Structure: salutation, a concrete reference to the position or company, a substantiated example from your own experience, an honest closing.

Example

Dear Mr. Portmann Over the past five years as an in-house consultant at a Swiss industrial company, I have been responsible for the MM module and, last year, supported the S/4HANA migration for procurement. The real work lay not in customizing, but in clarifying with procurement which of the special solutions built up over years were actually still needed. Of 34 enhancements, nine were ultimately carried over. Your posting mentions an upcoming transition with a comparable starting point. I know the conversations that have to happen there, and I bring the patience for them. I would be glad to present my approach in a personal conversation. Travel within Switzerland is a matter of course for me. Kind regards

Common Mistakes

  • Modules are named without stating the depth of the projects involved
  • S/4HANA experience is missing or not clearly distinguished from ECC
  • No indication whether the experience comes from consulting or in-house operations - each requires different things
  • Willingness to travel is not clarified, even though it is decisive at consulting firms
